Speaking the Unspoken: Recognizing Adoptee Artists
8:00 PM - 11:00 PM
Boston Progress/East Meets West Bookstore, Cambridge MA
We are excited to be teaming up with Boston Progress to co-host an open mic night featuring some of the fantastic artists in the adoptee community!
Boston Progress is a predominantly Asian-American arts collective in Cambridge. You can find out more about them at BostonProgress.org and get more info about the night BKA is co-hosting at:
There is also a lovely flyer for the event that you can download here:
Spread the word!
If you've never been to BP, they're located in the former East Meets West bookstore near Central Square. The cover is a $3 suggested donation. Their open mic night, called East Meets Words, is a monthly event, and there will likely be many more artists and performers there, but we are really excited to be able to feature the following artists from the adoptee community:
Sue Harris O'Connor
Joo Young Choi
Kate Park will also be reading her poetry at the open mic. I've been to open mic night at BP before and jammed with some of the fine people there's a fantastic, welcoming environment for any and all artists. If you are interested in performing or showing your art, music, poetry, photography, etc., please contact Nate! We would love for you to share your art with us.
Hope to see you there!
