Update 7/18/19: Mayor Marty Walsh has declared a heat emergency for the City of Boston from Friday at noon to Sunday night. They're predicting temps around 100 and a heat index of 100-110.
We are going to cancel the BBQ for Saturday for the safety and well-being of all. We will look into possibly doing something outdoors and family-friendly later in the summer/early fall.
For those who still want to gather and munch this weekend, we'll make a reservation at Korea Garden on Saturday. We'll announce a time and more details on Friday 7/19/19.----
BKA's Annual Summer Family BBQ will be held on Saturday, July 20th, 2019 from 12 to 4 p.m. at Arsenal Park in Watertown.
We're going to have a Family Day with games and BBQ eats. This event is open to everyone (e.g., spouses, significant others, families, kids, friends, etc.).
We will be hanging out at the grills and picnic tables on the right side of the park. The park also has a water pad and a small kids area. Feel free to also bring your outdoor games (cornhole, anyone?)
BKA will provide main dishes (burgers, black bean burgers, etc). Sides and desserts are potluck style (and pay a lower reg fee if you can bring one) - post what you're bringing in the comments.
We are fortunate to get the pavilion space this year so we will have a roof over our head rain or shine! If it IS rain, we're still on, though we will do pizza and board games instead of grilling.
Looking forward to seeing you there!
