Please join us for good food and conversation about family and parenting!
Raising a human can feel joyous, rewarding, exhausting, confusing, and so many other emotions. For us adoptees, being a parent or caregiver might also bring up thoughts about our own experiences related to family, adoption, race, etc. Does the idea of raising a family prompt reflection on your biological, foster/orphanage and adoptive families? What is it like to see someone every day who is biologically related to you? What are your thoughts about introducing birth culture into your child's life? What aspects of your own upbringing do you want for your child? What aspects do you hope will be different? This event will give us an opportunity to explore these topics and others while building connections within our adoptee community/communities.
This discussion group is open to adoptees from all walks of life and parental statuses --whether you are a parent/caregiver yourself, considering becoming a parent (biological or adoptive), or someone who just wants to hear and talk about what it is like to be a parent. This event will is open to transracial adoptees so we can engage in some focused conversations. Also... stay tuned for more social, family-friendly events in the coming months!!
